hello all im new here. im trying to help a friend who is a ranger for doing glints challenge duo with me. i usually do glints myself with all heros, and never have any trouble. but my friend would like to do a duo so she can make some money too, i gave her my heros builds, which is pretty much 2 mm's and a necro healer, that are all tweaked just for glints. they all run pretty much perfect for me, and i just spam spirits with a few other skills just for glints. problem is she uses the builds for her heros, and every other time her team will wipe, i can usually get there to res her and we can finish, but i would really like to see if someone has a good ranger build for her to use on glints. i have never made a ranger so i have no idea what would really work for her. i know right now shes trying basically a splinter barrage type build with, pain inverter, technobabble, and alkars acid. which i thought should work for her, but shes still having trouble. any help on a ranger build would be awesome, thanks for any help in advance.

Well, she could go /rit secondary and SoS it.

Those three PvE skills, especially Alkar's, are very expensive for a ranger to use, since none of them benefit from Expertise. I'm willing to bet she's having energy problems. I expect she'd be better off to replace them either with ranger skills or cheaper PvE skills, and perhaps one of the Ebon Vanguard wards to either add defense or boost damage.

She could consider going R/W, bringing For Great Justice, Barrage, Serpent's Quickness, Save Yourselves, and some optional other skills. Getting Save Yourselves on every barrage is pretty beast if you ask me, especially in Glint's. She could basically have minimum healing abilities on her side and still survive.

Apart from this, it sounds like you guys are splitting, and if you give her 2 MM's and a necro healer, it doesn't sound like she has the AoE abilities to be able to do enough damage to survive, especially against the Destroyer of Thoughts and Destroyer of Hordes in the First (?) wave. Consider giving her an Ineptitude or Panic Mes on her side instead of one of the MM's.

Ranger is good there, I go splinter barrage and with a zealous bow you have no problem with energy so alchemical acid is very good, but I don;t even use that and it's not a problem. Also, bring winter and winnowing. The only thing that could wipe you is the Destroyers of Compassion, when they show up make sure you deal with them first and acid really helps there.
